Job description: Position SummaryThe Real Estate Lending Advisor is a key player in driving the credit union’s mission of fostering financial well-being and homeownership within the community. This role is focused on real estate loan production, providing an excellent member experience, and delivering expert guidance on mortgage products. The Advisor will engage in community involvement, offer financial education, and develop strong internal and external relationships to support business development and the credit union’s overall mission and vision.Essential Functions

• Real Estate Loan Production: Actively seek opportunities to originate and process real estate loans, guiding members through the mortgage process from application to closing. Ensure all activities comply with credit union policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
• Member Experience: Deliver exceptional service by providing clear, accurate, and timely information to members throughout their home financing journey. Maintain regular communication, offering support and updates at key stages in the loan process.
• Product and Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about the latest mortgage products, industry trends, and regulatory changes. Utilize this knowledge to offer members the best possible solutions for their home financing needs.
• Financial Education: Educate members on the path to homeownership, providing resources and advice to help them make informed financial decisions. Conduct workshops and seminars in the community to promote financial literacy.
• Community Involvement: Represent the credit union at community events, building relationships and promoting the credit union’s commitment to financial education and homeownership. Participate in networking opportunities to increase the credit union’s visibility and attract new members.
• Business Development: Collaborate with branch staff and other departments to identify opportunities for cross-selling and deepening member relationships. Engage in activities that drive loan production and contribute to the growth of the credit union’s real estate lending portfolio.
• Support Credit Union Mission & Vision: Align daily activities with the credit union’s mission to empower members and the community through financial education and support. Advocate for the credit union’s values in every interaction.
• Relationship Building: Cultivate strong internal and external relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to both members and colleagues. Work closely with processors, underwriters, and other team members to ensure a seamless loan process and positive member experience.

• Education: A Two-year college degree, or completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors;
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of three years in mortgage lending or a related financial services role.
• Licensing: Must be eligible for or currently hold National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) certification.
• Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and mortgage lending software; bilingual skills are a plus.
• Mortgage Expertise: In-depth understanding of mortgage products, underwriting guidelines, and real estate lending practices.
• Member-Centric Service: Commitment to delivering a high level of service and support, with a focus on meeting members’ needs and exceeding their expectations.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly and effectively.
• Business Acumen: Strong understanding of the financial services industry and the ability to identify and act on business development opportunities.
• Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a team and foster strong working relationships across departments.

Expected salary: $24.56 – 26.09 per hour
