• Our client, a small, well-established (30+ years in business) and still rapidly growing real estate development company is seeking a Staff Accountant to add to their expanding team onsite in South Austin, TX. The Staff Accountant reports to the Controller and offers a supportive 4-person department, established processes, mentorship and a team-oriented growth environment with lots of room for advancement!
• The ideal candidate will come from the property management, self-storage, real estate, or construction industries; and will be knowledgeable with class accounting, GL coding, registers, and “due to/due from” balancing.

Responsibilities:

• Review general ledger coding and ensure class accounting is accurate
• Manage registers and reconcile transactions
• Balance due to/due from accounts
• Prepare billing reports for the controller to calculate GC fees
• Communicate with internal teams on financial data and reconciliations
• Assist with monthly and year-end closing procedures
• Utilize: Gravity Software, Excel, QuickBooks, and other accounting tools

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of accounting experience (preferably in real estate, property management, or multi-entity businesses)
• Experience with class accounting, general ledger (GL) coding, registers, and due to/due from balancing
• Strong understanding of billing processes to assist in preparing data for GC (general contractor) fee calculations
• Proficiency in Excel and working with accounting software

Compensation:

• Base salary in the 65k – 85k/year range
